Norminia's story

Norminia is a member of the “Siempre Unidas” (“Always United”) Communal Bank in the Tarapoto district of the province of San Martin. She is 33 years old, has 2 dependent children, and lives with her partner.

For 8 years, Norminia has been a seamstress. She has her own sewing studio in a very well-appointed area of her home. Every day she attends to her regular customers, who know her well and need her services. She takes orders for garments in advance and her customers always smile happily upon their delivery, very satisfied with her work. She is currently very pleased with and proud of what she has achieved.

She will use this loan for 3,000 Peruvian nuevos soles to purchase lengths of fabric in a variety of styles and colors as well as sewing supplies, including scissors, spools of thread in a variety of colors, needles, pins, and buttons.

Today, Norminia feels very fulfilled, and really wants to get ahead and realize the rest of her dreams. She is grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement for helping her begin her business and for helping other women who want to be entrepreneurs.
