Betty's story

Hello, Kiva Community! Meet Betty. She is a mother of lovely children who has been practicing agriculture for the last few years. Because of the immense knowledge she has about farming, she commands a lot of respect among other farmers and is viewed as a mentor in her village. Betty lives in Kericho with her family. Her primary income sources are tea, different crops, and milk, and she engages in some personal business to supplement her meager income.

Betty enjoys generating income out of the products from her own farm. She loves farming and she is aiming at improving the quality of her crops. Before joining Juhudi Kilimo, Betty could not access loans from banks, since she is a woman and a smallholder farmer. She joined Juhudi Kilimo and learned about saving and various agribusiness enterprises. She also got to learn about Kiva.

Betty is seeking a loan to purchase fertilizers to improve her tea farm. With your loan, it will make her farm activities much easier. This will boost her income and enable her to pay school fees for her children.

Betty waits for your kindness. She is very thankful in advance for your understanding and support.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals and farming equipment.
