Mr. Yon K., 62, and his wife, Mrs. Yoeun Soun (both pictured), 61, live along national road number one about 20 kilometers from Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. They have been married since 1978 and have seven children: five sons and two daughters. Three of them are married and live outside the family home, one daughter helps her parents in the business and the other one attends school. Although the couple is old, they are still strong enough to work.

Yon and his wife have been farming for forty-two years. He is asking for his first loan of US$1,200 in order to purchase oxen to assist his farm.
