Bancomunal Nacer Group's story

The Nacer Communal Bank is starting its fifth cycle, and has 17 members. They run various types of businesses, such as sale of food, groceries, clothing, cosmetics, jewelry, meat, medicines, and beauty services. Transito, for example, is 58 years old, married, and has 6 children. She travels to the rural area around Ayacucho, where she sells groceries, cosmetics, medicines, and other products when there is demand. Transito also has a site (La Tranquera) where she sells drinks and food typical of the region. Justina is a 46-year-old widow who has 6 children. She sells clothing on credit, ordered by her co-workers at the National University. The members need varying amounts, such as 300, 450, 600, and 900 soles, for a total of 13,350 soles. These loans will be used to purchase drinks, rice, sugar, pants, polo shirts, cosmetics, dyes, and animals. The dream of these members is for their children to work as professionals, and to grow their businesses, and have their own homes.
