Maruja's story

Maruja is 30, in a common law marriage, and has three children. Cristhian is 8, Jhon is 6, and Yashira is 3. Maruja is from the city of Urcos in the Quispicanchis province, Cusco department. She belongs to the Qori Orcco Communal Bank of the Arariwa Association.

She starts her household activities very early in the day. For example, she makes breakfast for her husband and children, cleans the house, and cooks for lunch. After doing these household chores, she has to go tend to her business of selling chicken and fish. She buys the products wholesale in the city of Cusco. Then, she sells them in the Mercado Unidos of Urcos. She has been in this business for 12 years. It has gone very well for her thanks to the effort she puts into her work.

She needs a loan to be able to perform maintenance on her car. This is her form of transportation to bring her products from the city of Cusco.

She is grateful for the opportunity of the loan, and she promises to pay it on time.

The city of Urcos is 45 kilometers from the city of Cusco, which is approximately a 45 minute trip.
