A loan helped to purchase fabric and colored thread in order to continue her sewing and embroidery business.

Saodat's story

Saodat, 56 years old, is a very welcoming, hospitable and slightly shy woman from Isfara. She is widowed and a careful mother of her two children.

Saodat is a craftsperson who has been working in embroidery for the past 32 years, earning money to provide her family. She embroiders patterns on pillowcases and does it well. She has gained a lot of clients.

Saodat is asking for your help with her first loan through Kiva's field partner. She will use the loan to buy sewing notions (colored thread and more fabric).

She believes that, with your support, she will be able to continue her business. Saodat awaits your support.

This loan is special because:

It allows Tajik artisans to support their families and carry on important handicraft traditions.
