Damiana's story

Mrs. Damiana is 53 years old and is a very hard-working woman. She lives in Mallco Chapí in the city of Cochabamba. She works in raw milk production and also in agriculture.

Mrs. Damiana is a single mother - her husband abandoned her with her children when they were young. She had to take responsibility for them for that moment forward. She worked twice as hard to make sure they did not lack anything and that they had a good education and a bright future. Her oldest son is married and already has a child. Mrs. Damiana advises him not to do what his father did. Her other son is finishing university and his mother is very proud that her work has allowed him to finish his studies.

She is requesting the loan to buy fodder to feed her cattle and increase her milk production and therefore her income. Every year she buys a truckload of soy.

Mrs. Damiana is a very responsible and hard-working person. Her mother raised her that way. She is thankful for being an only child as she has always been able to count on her parents' support. Her parents are now older but they still live with her. She is an admirable woman and is to be much respected for being a fighter and making her way up.
