Esther's story

Our member Esther is 29 years old; she has a daughter who is 1 year and 4 moths old and her name is Azumi Nahomi. Esther is originally from the city of Urcos, province of Quispicanchis, department of Cusco and she belongs to the Community Bank “Qori Orcco” of the Arariwa Association. The city of Urcos is located 45 Km from the city of Cusco, approximately 45 minutes of travel time.

Esther gets up early to do her household activities such as preparing breakfast for her husband and tending to her daughter. After she is done with her household activities, Esther has to go sell bread at Plaza De Armas (parade grounds) in the city of Urcos. She and her business partners of 2 years now came up with the idea to create a special bread that they called “chuta navideña” which has similar characteristics to the chuta bread (a round, soft bread with a particular aroma and of giant size; traditional bread from the city of Urcos) but they added raisins and fruits. Esther and her business partners only make the “chuta navideña” bread for the Christmas festivities. She is requesting a loan to buy more consumables such as flour, sugar, lard, fruits and raisins to make “chutas navideñas” for this Christmas and New Year, since it is during this season when they sell the most.

Esther is grateful for the opportunity afforded by this channel and she is committed to make the payments according to the established time line.
