Normalita's Group's story

Normalita A. is from the town of Nagbukel, San Isidro. She is 46 years old. Normalita is the leader of a seven member group loan offered by Kiva partner ASKI. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults.

Normalita is married and has three school-aged children. To make a living, Normalita owns and operates a store selling cosmetics and silver jewelries. Normalita has been engaged in her business for over one year and earns approximately 6,000 PHP a month.

In 2009, Normalita joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Normalita is requesting a loan of 8,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional cosmetics and silver jewelries. This loan will be the second loan taken out by Normalita from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve and expand her business.

About ASKI:
