A loan helped to buy greenhouses to produce food during the whole year to feed the family as well as to sell and increase the income.

Agostinho's story

Agostinho is a 55-year-old man from Inhambane. He is married and lives in Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, with his wife and their four lovely children.

Agostinho is a committed man when it comes to his family, as well as his dreams. Together with his wife, Agostinho has been running a farm in Moamba, where he produces a lot of crops, such as green peppers, lettuce, and a variety of cabbages. With the excess of the production, Agostinho can sell it to the local market, earning some income to sustain the family.

However due to the climatic changes, irregular rainy season and very high temperatures in the country, Agostinho needs to find a way to ensure his production during the whole year so he can permanently ensure the level of production and income to the family.

This is why Agostinho is requesting a loan to buy greenhouses so that he can produce his crops in a protected environment to ensure a good production of food for his family as well as an income based on crop sales.

This loan is special because:

It gives smallholder farmers access to productive equipment and new markets.
