A loan helped a member to purchase nets, other fishing equipment, etc. to increase her production capacity.

Alpha Group's story

Madame Jolie is a client of the MFI Hekima. She is a ship owner and wholesaler. She sells small fish, called “sambaza” locally, at the market in town. She has a fishing team.

She is the leader of the group Alpha, and the mother of two children who go to school. She started her business with her own funds thanks to financial support from her husband. Her husband is a public service employee. In early 2015, she joined the MFI Hekima loan program to strengthen her capital.

With this new loan, she will purchase nets, other fishing equipment, etc. to increase her production capacity, while following best business practices and environmental sustainability. She would like to make progress with her business, and ensure schooling and food for her children.

Finally, she thanks Hekima and their partners for their support of non-bankable entrepreneurs. Thanks to Hekima loans, she is able to take care of her family.
