A loan helped to help a lonely woman to buy a sewing machine so she can use it to make different repairs and make an extra income.

Rita's story

Rita is 50 years old, she never got married and lives only with her retired mother in a small house in Korca city. To make a living Rita works during the first part of the day in a tailoring shop, while during the afternoon she takes care a small child near her house. Her mother receives a small retirement pension. Weekends are usually a free time for Rita, she usually spends them doing the housework. "I think I can make an extra income during the weekends if I had a sewing machine, since there are plenty of my neighbours who ask me to repair their clothes since I know how!"-said Rita during the interview.

Rita is having for the first time a loan, a very small one, just to buy a sewing machine which will help her in making an extra income.

This loan is special because:

It supports people in a country where financing options are scarce.
