A loan of $350 helped purchase materials for improving her business.

Yajayra's story

Yajayra is 26 years old and is a hardworking young woman who lives with her two young children, ages 13 and 6. She lives in a house that was given to her by her parents. For more than five years, Yajayra has been sewing and making clothes in order to support her family. She recently partnered with a group of ladies who do this type of work at a workshop located near her house. Yajayra spends almost her entire day applying sequins and beads to clothing to make them more beautiful and form creative patterns. These appealing designs make the garments more valuable at the market. She is happy with her work because it gives her the freedom in her schedule to also cook and do housework. Yajayra gets paid for each finished garment, so she tries to produce as many pieces in the shortest time possible in order to earn more money.

This is her first loan with MFP. Yajayra promises to be very responsible and punctual with her payments because she knows this is the only way for her to get ahead. She plans to use the money to purchase materials so that she can continue the embroidery work she enjoys.
