Offinsu, Ghana / Fish Selling

A loan of $1,200 helped to buy more stock of smoked fish and dried fish.

Salamatu's story

Salamatu is 37 years old, married, and the mother of four children. Currently, three of her children are in school. She sells smoked and dried fish; she started her fish sales eight years ago at the market in the community where she lives. She buys stock of fish from Yeji in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. She prepares and serves her customers with very tasty and good quality fish, and because of that many customers buy from her stand. She buys stocks of fishes from the fish mongers sometimes when demand is high. Salamatu also sells porridge prepared from millet and sometimes maize to her customers. She sells the porridge in the morning and right after she switches over to the sale of the fish.

She has a high customer base as a result of her moderate prices, and her good reception towards her customers. She is requesting the loan to upgrade her stock of fish and porridge. She dreams of giving her children a quality education through the proceeds from the business, and she would be grateful for your support to make her dream become a reality.
