A loan of $350 helped increase working capital.

Mame Kene's story

Mame Kene D. lives in the borough of Camberene. She has been a member of U-IMCEC since January 2007 and has never benefited from a loan. She has been a retailer for the past four years, selling cloth and ready-to-wear clothing. She is a parent beneficiary, married and mother of two. The moments that give her most pleasure are when she selects and buys her supplies at the Sandaga market in Dakar.

She is requesting a loan for 150,000 francs to increase her stock of merchandise during this period of preparing for Tabaski and year-end celebrations. She hopes with this loan to improve her business by increasing her profits and working capital.

Mrs. D. is a beneficiary of the Protocol between U-IMCEC and the Development Program for Children and Families "Seydina Issa Laye". This program seeks to decrease poverty within the community and above all protect children from impoverished families. Thanks to this cooperation, beneficiary parents can obtain credit under more flexible conditions than with ordinary credit. Since this protocal started in December 2008, 120 parents have obtained financing for sums ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 francs.
