María Isabel's story

Maria is 45 years old, single and lives with her son in Lambayeque, 20 minutes outside of Chiclayo (Peru.)

The need to move the life of her only son forward brought her to start a mobile clothes-selling business five years ago. Thanks to the savings of her business, she was able to buy a "mototaxi" (a vehicle used to transport cargo and passengers,) with which she gets important support in the sustenance of her home. This vehicle is driven by her son, who offers his service inside of the city and in nearby towns.

The mototaxi now urgently needs repairs because use over time and the broken-down roads that connect Lambayeque with the near-by towns. On the other hand, Maria wants to increase her clothing sales this Christmas season, but she does not have the capital needed to do so. Consequently, she has seen it as necessary to ask for a loan of 1500 soles from Edpyme Alternativa for the first time. This will allow her to send the mototaxi for repair and maintenance and buy more merchandise to enhance her business.

Her greatest longing is to see her son as a professional and she is looking to collect the necessary money to register him in a local university. She is a fighter who has known how to move forward despite of difficulties.
