Joseph's story

Joseph is 55 years old, married and the father of four children. He lives in a small community which is a suburb of Offinsu in the Ashanti region of Ghana. Currently all of his children are in school.

He runs a chemical store and sells various kinds of drugs like blood tonic, pain killers, malaria drugs, etc. in his neighborhood. Many local people patronize his drugs as first aid and for cures when they are sick. He has been in business for five years now. He is among the few people who run a licensed chemical shop in the community. His chemical shop is registered to operate by the Ghana pharmaceutical council.

He wants to use the loan to buy an increased supplies of drugs to include others that are frequently requested by his customers. He hopes to make a good income to take care of his family. This would enable him save more money to support his children in school.
