A loan of $625 helped invest in a new business.

Maria's story

Maria (35) is a hard-working woman who lives with her husband, Crisanto (42), and their three small children: Leonela (11), Luz (8) and Jefferson (5). They live in their own house in a quiet area of the Peruvian mountains.
From an early age, Maria learned that success comes only through hard work and dedication. She worked as a traveling sales representative; however, she was mortified to discover that her children's grades were beginning to fall, so she decided to set up a business in her own house. She opened a small restaurant in her own living room, which is spacious and ideal for this purpose. She also sells groceries, so on the same premises she has two very profitable businesses, since there is no competition in the area.
Maria has had this business for over a year; things are going well and she is very satisfied with the results. Moreover, on weekends she serves breakfasts with the help of her husband, who takes over the business when she has to go out.
This is her seventh loan from MFP and she is very happy with the support she has received; she promises to repay punctually. Maria also considers that the community bank is very important for everyone to succeed and improve their situation. She plans to invest the money in a new business with her husband: a tire store, where they will sell and change tires. They are determined to work hard to achieve their goals.
