A loan helped me to provide a safe home away from home child care environment for my child care business.

Kimberly's story

I was raised in Brooklyn NY, with the privilege of having both of my parents in the home to raise me and my siblings. Life for me was not easy because both of my parents worked, so me being the oldest child I had to help care for my siblings. At 20 years old I became pregnant and had a child of my own. So now at 21 years old I am a single mother who not only had to care for my child but continued to help care for my siblings. Although it was a struggle and hard some days, I survived, because this is who I am. I have a love for children and for helping others that only my heart can explain. Throughout the years I have held different capacities in child care ranging from teaching in the classroom, to bookkeeping,to being on the administrative staff to becoming an Asst. Director and now an Entrepreneur seeking to open a Child Care Business within the few months. I was also a Foster parent for many years, with children of various ages and nationalities living in my home. My life definitely had an impact on my desire to start my own Day Care. As I struggled as single mom, there are many parents struggling today that need child care and want to feel safe with leaving their children behind while they work to survive and make a living. Who best for job than me. My moto is IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME!!! Today I am here to make a difference in a child's life. Working in childcare for so many years has boosted my entrepreneurial spirit, it drives me to believe in myself, knowing that my business will be a success story.
