Fany's story

The member was born in the town of Urcos, province of Quispicanchis in the provincial department of Cuzco. She belong to the "Qori Orcco" Community Bank of the Arariwa Association. The name of the bank means "Golden Hill" in the Quechua language. Cuzco was once the capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most important cities of Colonial Peru. It was declared Heritage of Mankind and Archeological capital of the Americas.


Our member Fany is 43 years old and a single mother. Her children are Giovanna, a 23 year old who is studying towards her technical degree in IT and Andy, a 15 year old who is in the 10th grade. The member alternates her household chores with the sale of beer from her house. She is also a promoter of folk shows and hires musical artists such as Sonia Morales, Dina Paucar among many others. She has had this business for several years and it is going very well thanks to all hard work. Our member is a working mother and an interpreneur who provides for her family. She requests the loan to buy more sodas and beer.


The member is thankful for this opportunity and will comply with the scheduled repayments.


The city of Urcos is located 45km from Cuzco through the highway to Puno. It is a small village with a beautiful lagoon where, according to the legend, Huascar threw an enormous gold chain to prevent the Spaniards from taking it.
