George is forty-nine years of age, married, and has four children who are all currently in school. He lives with his wife and children in a rented apartment in a tourist attraction community in the central region of Ghana. The community is one of the coastal towns in Ghana and, as a result, the major occupation of the people is mainly fishing.
George is a trader. He trades in hardware such as bags of cement, roofing sheets, building materials, etc. He sells in a store by the roadside in the community. George procures his goods from Accra. He has been in business for five years and wants a loan to buy goods in bulk to increase his stock.
