A loan helped to buy bags of maize.

Betty's story

Betty is 42 years old. She is married and has four children, all of whom are in school. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a fishing community in the central region of Ghana. Betty works hard to support her husband to provide for the family.

She is a food vendor who prepares and sells kenkey (a traditional Ghanaian staple food made from maize). She sells by the roadside and buys bags of maize from nearby farming communities. Betty has been in business for 10 years and wants a loan to procure bags of maize and other ingredients in bulk so she can increase her profit margin.
