A loan of $325 helped to purchase feed for cows.

Mercedes's story

Mercedes is the 51-year-old mother of a very loving family. She lives in her own home with her 53-year-old husband, Basilio, and their two daughters, Sonia (14) and Nury (7), who are the main inspiration for all of her hard work.

Her occupation is the sale of milk; every morning she wakes up very early to milk her cows to obtain enough liters to satisfy the demands of her customers when she goes to her village's Sunday street market. The milk that she sells is of very high quality because she takes great care with the nutrition of her livestock.

What she likes most about her job is caring for her animals because she feels great affection for them. She has been in this business for 25 years and believes that the most difficult part is the proper feeding of her cows, since anything undesirable that they eat could affect their milk production. Going forward, she hopes to increase the number of dairy cows that she has because she wants to increase their production.

This is Mercedes' first loan with MFP; she knows that she must pay on time and is prepared to do so. She is a very responsible member of her communal bank, always conscientious about making sure that agreements between members are fulfilled. With the nine hundred nuevos soles requested she will purchase more grass feed for her animals, because she knows that her business's success depends on their nutrition.
