A loan helped to pay for yarn, 5 kg of dyes, and some firewood ultimately to buy a new loom for her daughter.

Fatimata's story

Fatimata is a married woman who has seven children, of whom six are in school. For over eighteen years, she has been a weaver and makes tradition ‘pagne’ cloth in her home located on the outskirts of the capital. She delivers her ‘pagne’ cloth to the big market of Ouagadougou or to her friends by special order.

Now on her third loan cycle at YIKRI, she is asking for a loan to purchase a bale of yarn, 5 kg of dyes, and some firewood to produce her traditional fabrics to satisfy customer demand. She plans to use her profits to reinvest in her business and to save money. She could then buy a new loom for her daughter.
