A loan of $800 helped purchase rice, corn, beans and other foodstuff.

Christina's story

Born in 1970, Christina L. is a widow with 6 children. Faced with the difficulties of singlehandedly providing for the basic needs of her family, she got her first loan from GHAPE in 1999, with which she raised money to pay school fees for her children and built a house for her family.

Having successfully invested and repaid all former loans, she now requests a loan of $800, with which she intends to carry out sales of foodstuffs and cultivate maize and cocoyam to sell for her family. With the profits she plans to continue paying school fees for her children and invest in her business.

She plans to repay the loan in 24 months and the first installment of repayment shall be made on the fourth month from the date of disbursement.
