Samuel Fru's story

Samuel T. is 55 years old, married and a father of five children. He first sought help from GHAPE in 1999 when he was unemployed and faced difficulties in providing food for his family and paying school fees for his children. Since 1999, he has successfully invested, managed and repaid loans up to $600 after he was trained in business management, marketing techniques and credit discipline. With these loans, he increased his business. His children were able to go to school and some learnt a trade.

Given a loan of $1200 and the training gotten from GHAPE, he plans to rear pigs, cultivate crops and sell food items and raise money to continue paying school fees for his children and provide them with food and medications. He will also provide pig droppings for the community to use as manure and sell piglets to those interested.

He plans to repay the loan in 24 months and the first installment of repayment shall be made on the fourth month from the date of disbursement.
