Badamjav's story

Badamjav G. is 59 years old and lives with her husband and two daughters in the Gobi-Altai province of Mongolia. She and her family live in a traditional Mongolian nomadic tent called a "ger". Her older daughter is 25 years old and helps with the family business and her younger daughter is a university student. Her husband is disabled and currently unemployed.

Badamjav operates a dairy products trading business in her town. She sells a variety of local dairy products to her many customers. Badamjav started her business in 2003 and has built a stable operation over the years. She is a very hardworking woman and is focused on supporting her family. She says, “My business is our only source of income because my husband cannot work.” Badamjav hopes to soon buy a stall at the local market at which to sell her dairy products. She is requesting a 1,600,000 tugrug loan to purchase dairy products in order to increase her sales.
