Justina's story

JUSTINA, 68, is a member of Asociación Arariwa's “HUAYNA CCAPAC” communal bank which is located in Cusco province, Cusco department. She is a single mother of 4 children. Her wish to see her dreams come true and her way of being motivated her to open her own business several years ago; she sells empanadas (turnovers) at the "Arturo Palomino" school. The earnings from these sales go to her household expenses. She sells the empanadas from Monday through Friday and on weekends sells gardening tools in “Tupac Amaru” plaza in Wanchaqu district. She has been in this line of work for several years, too and has done well, thanks to the efforts she puts into it. She is a hard-working, enterprising woman who sees to it that her family gets ahead in life despite all adversities. She needs funding to buy more gardening tools like shovels, pickaxes and shears. She is grateful for the opportunity granted by this means and pledges to repay in a timely fashion.
