A loan of $1,075 helped buy merchandise to stock her business.

Etelvida's story

Etelvida is 44, divorced, and does not have children. She has a place where she sells groceries to the neighbors. The place is centrally located. She wants to buy more merchandise to offer a greater variety of articles to her customers. She has been in this business for several years, and she wants to grow.

This is her first loan with FUDECOSUR. In the past she could not get a loan because there were too many requirements with the other, formal banks. She wants to increase the quantity of articles by half and have a better income. That way she will improve her location and her standard of living.

The Foundation for the Development of Southern Communities is dedicated to economically empowering its clients by providing credit and capacitating programs to improve living conditions of micro-entrepreneurs and their children across Southern Costa Rica.
