A loan of $1,000 helped finish building a pig farm to start raising pigs.


Sonia's story

Sonia P. C., 22, lives 24 km from the city of Cochabamba in the western area. Sonia is single, and she lives in her parents’ house. Her parents’ house is where she has her three dairy cows. They are her greatest source of income.

Sonia has been doing dairy work since she was very small. The family’s primary activities are milk production and agriculture. She has a great deal of knowledge about milk production. She does field work, and she also is studying to be a teacher in the Evangelist University near her community.

The current loan will be used to build a pig farm. She has a vision to diversify her income in order to have some kind of savings. She will sell the pigs biannually.
