A loan of $3,675 helped a member operating capital for their respective businesses.

Las Preferidas Group's story

The group “Las Preferidas” is represented by Sra. Mary and consists of 12 members who have demonstrated at their meetings their desire to succeed. Many of the members know each other though their business activities at the market. In general, the members are engaged in retail businesses selling groceries, bread, cosmetics by catalog, and clothing. Some members sew and produce garments. We are able to mention that competition exists in their area, but the members have extensive experience in their specific fields and know where they are able to generate the most revenue. This may require moving their vending posts to the district fairs or other places within the country.

This loan will be used to acquire new merchandise for the Christmas season, as well as supplies and materials to help them be more efficient in their work. For example, the seamstresses in the group will buy machines for spinning thread so that they can reduce the delivery time of their finished goods. The members are in their fourth loan cycle and demonstrated responsibility in completing their payments. They rely heavily on the assistance provided by Fundación Agrocapital in order to support their families.
