Raquel's story

Sra. Raquel is a member of the Communal Bank “Nueva Luz del Mañana” (New Light of Tomorrow), which is part of Asociación Arariwa in Cusco Province, Department of Cusco. She is 25 years old, in a common law marriage, and has an 8 month old son named Guillermo.

Motivated by her personality and desire to fulfill her dreams, Raquel started a business selling snacks. She has been gaining customers from the beginning and her earnings allow her to provide for her household. Today Raquel has regular customers who ask for her products, so she personally attends to each individual with her charismatic personality. She has been in this business for a number of years and has done very well as a result of all the effort she puts into her work. She is a hardworking mother and entrepreneur who succeeds on behalf of her family despite facing adversity. The loan she is requesting will be used to buy more snacks since her sales are at their highest during this time of the year.
