Karina's story

Karina R. is an enterprising and collaborative member. She lives in the district of Yarina Cocha in the region of Ucayali. She is 23 years old and is the mother of a young child. She has the support of her husband who is an independent worker. She dedicates herself to buying and selling wood and has been a part of the community bank, "Perlas de Yarina" ["Pearls of Yarina"], for five years. Karina began with a loan of 300 PEN, which she used to buy sweets [for another project]. Currently, she needs a loan of 3,000 PEN with which she will buy wood to sell. Karina's goal is to have her own store to sell food products.
