A loan helped to buy more water and milk to sell.

Fatu's story

Fatu is 37 years old and is a married woman with three children, all of whom live at home while in school.

Fatu went to school until 6th grade and now and operates a business where she sells water and milk. She received her start-up capital from her husband, while her mother taught her the trade.

She has been a strong business woman for seven years now and does not face any problems with her business.

She uses car to transport supplies to her business site. Fatu begins her sales from 7:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening, Monday through Saturday. She likes her business because it gives her money on a daily basis and she is proud of her business because it sends her children to school.

To continue her business, Fatu applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a KIVA Field Partner. The loan will be used to buy more water and milk to sell in order to repay her loan and expand her business.

In the future, she wants to own houses. She is highly grateful for your support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
