A loan of $700 helped to purchase Dumas clothes in bulk to increase her inventory.

Juliana's story

Juliana is a businesswoman who trades in Dumas (a brand name) clothes, linen and lace materials. She sells her goods mainly on credit to her loyal customers through hawking - that is, she uses a personal selling method; this, she said, makes her goods move very fast. She also sells fried yam with hot pepper to supplement her clothing and materials business.

Juliana is 35 years old and is a married mother with four children. All her children are in school. She is supportive of her family through the proceeds she makes from her business.

Juliana has fourteen years selling experience but progress has persistently been slow due to insufficient funds. She hopes the loan will enable her to revive her business and make a profit that is more viable so as to remain in business. She wants to purchase Dumas clothes, linen and lace materials, and yam, vegetables, etc., in bulk to increase her inventory.

It is Juliana’s desire to save more to give her children a better education and a better life.
