A loan helped to buy a water tank, chemicals, vegetable seeds, soil, and a rake.

Aukusitina's story

Aukusitina is a 37-year-old single woman with one child. She runs a business of selling vegetables, such as cabbages and cucumbers, in her community so that she can earn a living. Aukusitina has three years of experience with this business. She is a Samoan citizen and works very hard to satisfy her customers with fresh vegetables. Every day, except for Saturday and Sunday, she delivers vegetables to other villages using a wheelbarrow. She believes using a wheelbarrow in the meantime makes her strong, happy, and healthy.

Aukusitina needs a loan to purchase more equipment such as a water tank, chemicals, vegetable seeds, soil, and a rake so that she can take her business to the next level. Her dream is to one day earn more so that she can buy a vehicle to use for her business and to help her family. She became a member of SPBD in 2018.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
