Sofia's story

Sofía is 71 years old, a single mother, and has three children. She lives with one of her daughters in the community of San Marcos, a place which is next to San Pedro, Copan.

For twenty years, she has worked fattening pigs. She has her business and sells on the land of her house and to order. She has had ten loans from ODEF and currently is asking for the amount of 25,000 lempiras to improve her pigsties. She will to purchase materials such as wood, sand, cement, and metal sheeting. Sofía seeks to expand the land with the objective of purchasing more pigs and concentrated feed to fatten and sell them in the December season which has the highest amount of sales.

Her dream is to grow as a farmer and to expand her business to improve her income so to have better financial stability.
