A loan helped to buy new iron rod coils and restart her husband's chain making business as his equipment was stolen.

Zarina's story

Zarina is a 53-years old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Picture with her husband. Her husband makes iron chain by hand in his workshop. The chain is made on a hearth by hammering cut lengths of red-hot wrought iron rod into oval links, one link passing through the next to form a cable.

A few days ago the iron rod's coil was stolen from his workshop. Now he is unable to make any chains to sell and to get income as well.

Zarina has requested for a loan from Kiva's field partner BRAC Pakistan, so that her husband would be able to buy new iron rod coils and could start his business again.

Zarina is the mother of three children and it is very difficult to feed all of them each day. Her dreams are to provide all the necessities for each child. She is very thankful to BRAC Pakistan for this honorable favor.
