Gloria Elena's story

Gloria Elena is 33 years old, married, and her husband helps her with the household expenses. They have three children who are 11, 8, and 6 years old. The children who are 8 and 6 currently go to the elementary school and the older child is in secondary school. She requests a loan from Kiva with the firm goal of investing in her small business which is a general store (selling groceries and grains.) She is a hardworking woman who started this business six years ago with capital offered by her husband with the goal that her grocery will generate good profits which will allow them to improve their standard of living. They want to make some home improvements to provide necessary comforts for the whole family as the children are growing and they need better spaces for all the family members. Above all, they want to offer greater security to their children because they live in a place called "Barrio Waspan Norte", a neighborhood known for its insecurity.
