A loan of $1,525 helped to maintain his garlic crop in order to make his harvest more productive.

Mario Alfonso's story

Mario is a hard-working 56-year-old man who lives with his parents near La Punta de Bombon, located in the Arequipa region.

Mario works in the countryside, an activity that he learned from his parents and has continued to pursue since an early age. At present, he cultivates, mainly, tubers and onions, but now he needs to diversify his production. It is for this reason that he is requesting a micro-loan, so that he can provide for maintenance on his garlic crop, to assure a more productive and sales-worthy harvest.

Mario hopes to invest future earnings in expanding his crops and improving his family's quality of life.
