A loan of $350 helped purchase wood.

Lucía's story

Lucia is a 46 year old mother who lives with her husband and two children (age 6 and 11) in the district of Cayaltí, which is located an hour away from the city of Chiclayo.

She has managed a small carpentry shop at her home for the past six months. The idea for this business came about as a result of her need to provide her family with a steadier source of income. Her husband works as a farm laborer and his earnings are not sufficient to maintain the family financially.

Lucia manages the workshop with her brother and they work based on the orders they receive. Their products are of very good quality and have resulted in an increase in customers. Lucia does not have sufficient capital to continue fulfilling her customers’ requests, so she has requested her first loan from Edpyme Alternativa in the amount of 1000 soles to buy wood.

Her greatest dreams are to have continued success with her workshop and purchase machinery to make production more efficient. Lucia is an active, responsible, and creative woman.
