A loan of $700 helped provide additional operating capital.

Rita Marcia's story

Rita has a small grocery store. After suffering an illness for several months, she separated from her husband. She has three children under her care, but she raises them without the support of their father. Rita also prepares homemade bread that she sells in her store and also distributes to other retailers in the area. This provides her with additional income above the revenues she generates from her store. She lives in the home of her aunt and uncle, since she is the only niece for whom they have cared.

Her latest project is selling lunches on the weekends from her house, since it is large enough and has an expanded patio to accommodate such a business. She has been engaged in this business for two years. Rita is currently working to get ahead and see that her children who are now in high school eventually become professionals. She is a new client who is receiving an individual loan from our Institution.
