Fortunata's story

Fortunata is a humble mother who has been a member of the Communal Bank “Virgen Purificada – Angostura” for several years. She is 53 years old and has 5 grown children who are independent.

Fortunata lives in the community of Angostura in San Jerónimo District, which is located south of the city of Cusco. She has a carpentry workshop where she makes wood furniture such as desks, wardrobes, beds, and chairs. In addition, she has a car that she rents out for taxi services. Fortunata divides her time between tending to her household duties and helping run the carpentry shop. She is responsible for applying lacquer to the wood furniture.

Fortunata has been in this business for several years and has done very well because of her efforts. She is a hardworking and enterprising mother who wants to succeed for the sake of her family. This loan will be used to purchase materials that are important to the process of treating the finished furniture pieces such as thinner, lacquer, paint, and other products. Ever since she was young woman, Fortunata has tried to be an exemplary mother by working to feed her children. She never considered quitting and is determined to continue working until she no longer has the strength.

Fortunata is grateful for this opportunity and commits to making her payments on time.
