A loan helped to buy a new generator to support the printing services.

Walner's story

Walner is one of Zafen's successful borrowers. He had a small printing shop with few machines when he was connected to Fonkoze. There was neither enough workspace nor enough employees to deliver the services needed by the customers.

In his first loan with Fonkoze, Walner participated in business skills training and marketing strategies. There, he discovered that he knew what to do but he had two obstacles: find the necessary funds to buy the equipment and to apply the marketing strategies.

Thanks to Kiva, Walner was able to buy the needed equipment. He has made significant progress: six permanent jobs were created for youth and his workspace was expanded. An accountant was hired to supervise the business transactions and the owner captured some large contracts. Even his wife now joins him in the management of the business.

Walner expresses his thanks to the Kiva lenders, but he would like to go further in breaking the frontiers of youth unemployment. Another loan will allow him to buy a new generator to support the printing services. Therefore Walner congratulates all Kiva lenders for their ongoing support to him.

This loan is special because:

It provides small and growing businesses in Haiti with access to capital.
