A loan of $300 helped to tile the living room and bedroom floors.

Francisca Susana's story

Francisca Susana is a single mother with four children, three of whom are adults and have their own families. They help their mother financially. Francisca is responsible for her youngest child who is 17 years old and in the last year of high school.

She has worked for six years as a caretaker for the organisation INACH in Juigalpa. She is seeking her fifth loan with Kiva partner AFODENIC to improve her house by tiling the living room and bedroom floors which are currently made of earth. During the winter rains they turn into mud.

Doña Francisca is noted for living up to her commitments and is much liked by her work colleagues. To show their affection they have given her the nickname Susanita. Francisca feels very grateful for the loans extended to her by AFODENIC as they have enabled her to improve her own life and that of her family.
