Janet's story

Ms. Janet, belongs to the Communal Bank “Las Solidarias II”, in the Tarapoto District, San Martín Province, in the San Martín State. She lives with her partner, is 30 years old, and a mother of one son, who is still dependent on her.

Recognizing that wood is an important part of furniture manufacturing, she saw a great opportunity in selling wood furniture wholesale and retail. She handles the business in her own home with the support of her husband, handling requests from the most important carpenters and cabinet-makers in the region who are among her clients. She is highly recognized for the quality of the woods she sells and for the good work that has resulted from her efforts.

With the loan of 1,500.00 soles, she will buy planks of wood such as cedar and mahogony, as well as purchase screws and other woods that are among the most precious woods for making living room, dining room, kitchen and office furniture.
