George D. is from the village of Calabayan Minanga, Angadanan, Isabela. He is 33 years old. George is the group leader of a 12-member group loan offered by ASKI. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. George is married and has one school-aged child. To make a living, George owns and operates a business venture in the services sector. While not the only means of generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes primarily from operating a welding shop/steel fabrication. George has been engaged in his business for over 3 years, and earns approximately Php 12,000 a month from these activities.

In 2006, George joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve his living situation and ability to engage in business activities. George has successfully repaid a previous loans from ASKI. George is requesting a new loan of 8000 PHP which will be used to purchase materials needed to expand services provided. This loan will be the eighth loan taken out by George from ASKI. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand his business.
