Hawa is 41 years old and married with two school-aged children. She has a salon where she offers weaving and braiding services. She's been in this business for six years and employs two people. She previously worked as a cashier in the city of Kisumu.
She requested this loan for KES 50,000 to purchase salon products. Since joining Faulu, Hawa says she has been able to pay her children's school fees and meet her day-to-day obligations. She describes herself as hardworking and committed. In the future, she hopes to expand to a chain of hair salons.
