A loan of $775 helped purchase fertilizers and pesticides to protect his harvest.

Juan Leonardo's story

Mr. Juan Leonardo V. has been working as a farmer for more than 40 years, thanks to the support of his parents-in-law, who gave him a vacant piece of land to work and use to support his family. The biggest difficulty facing Juan is that the pineapple crop is attacked by pests as he lacks fertilizers and the materials necessary to combat such an epidemic. He wants to buy the necessary products to achieve a good harvest and sell at the best price, in order to be able to make a down payment on completing the necessary construction on his house. Juan lives in a poor neighborhood in his town with his family and their eight independent children. Juan's dream is to be able to purchase a truck to take his product to the market, as now he has to pay for this service, subtracting from his earnings.
