A loan of $875 helped increase merchandise.

Helvia's story

Helvia is 45 years old. She lives in her mother’s house with her two children, aged 6 and 14. Eight months ago, she started a store in her house, as she noticed that it was in a good central location.

Since that time, she has seen the fruits of her labor. She and her children attend to the customers who come in for the foods that they sell. She only works in the mornings, as in the afternoons she is busy with housework and care of the children. She is very satisfied with the business, and feels constant personal growth. She plans to pursue this business until it becomes a large-scale food distribution.

This is Helvia’s third loan with MFP, and she is happy to be part of a communal bank. The money from this loan will be used to buy more merchandise for her store, especially “panetones,” traditional Christmas cakes.
